Vacancy no. 2 Local Marketing Consultant High value crops

 Description of Responsibilities:

The local marketing consultant will be based mainly in the Ramallah, his/her general duty is to promote the marketing of high value crops products locally. His/her specific roles will be:

  • Conduct an action-oriented assessment and analysis of the local market, addressing the marketing potential of high value crops in terms of grown varieties, product quality, competitors, best packaging and product appearance, etc.
  • Based on this assessment, the local marketing consultant will figure out realistic and effective export opportunities to be integrated as a part of the marketing-oriented business plan
  • Establish a wide chain of trusted customers in the local market who buy high value crops products.
  • Facilitate and supervise the contracting process between local marketing companies, while implementing maximum efforts to achieve the most favorable contracting and delivery terms for producers and buyers.
  • Follow up the products delivery after the shipment process starting from packing houses or storage warehouses to buyers. He/she will verify the goods receipts and certificates, attend the on-site quality and safety sampling tests and follow up further quality and safety analysis.
  • Verify the quality and safety related lab analysis reports; follow up customers' actions, including performing rejections or exclusions.
  • Organize participation in local exhibitions and promotional events for marketing of high value crops and GLOBAL G.A.P. products.
  • Drafting of business plans; and development of binding contractual arrangements between the agribusinesses, the producer groups and other value chain participants.

Qualifications:

Education required: Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Marketing, business, agriculture or other related field)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3years of experience conducting agriculture market research.
  • Experience with local marketing of High value crops and Global Gap
  • Experience writing scopes of work and overseeing the work of service providers
  • Experience coordinating work as a member of a team
  • Proven experience identifying/engaging the business sector
  • Proven experience in marketing/value chain analysis
  • Proven experience in the development and roll out of quality management systems (QMS) for farmers and farmer groups based on ISO 9001.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience with International development projects
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English
