Vacancy no. 1: Marketing & promotional coordinator High value crops

Description of Responsibilities:

The Marketing & Promotional Coordinator will coordinate the overall marketing and promotion component of the project, supervise the work of national and international marketing advisors, and follow up the implementation of promotional events and participation in related international events. His/her specific roles will be:

  • Conduct market assessments and surveys for local and export markets on commercial activities sourcing agriculture produce from WB & GS
  • Regularly gather primary and secondary source market related data.
  • Identification of and outreach to international & local markets
  • Connect program farm partners to local & international buyers of agricultural commodities
  • Identify opportunities for program interventions and work with technical team (agronomist input supply advisor) to design value chain program initiatives to meet market gaps
  • Develop timely and accurate monitoring reports and analysis of activities;
  • Establish a wide chain of trusted customers in local &international markets who buy high value crops products.
  • Verify the quality and safety related lab analysis reports meets that of local & international markets; follow up customers' actions, including performing rejections or exclusions.
  • Organize participation in local & international exhibitions as well as promotional events for marketing of high value crops
  • Drafting of business plans; and development of binding contractual arrangements between the agribusinesses, the producer groups and other value chain participants.

Qualifications:

Education required: Bachelor’s degree (i.e. Marketing, business, agriculture or other related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3years of experience conducting agriculture market research.
  • Experience writing scopes of work and overseeing the work of service providers
  • Experience with marketing & promotion of High value crops and Global Gap
  • Experience coordinating work as a member of a team
  • Proven experience identifying/engaging the business sector
  • Proven experience in marketing/value chain analysis
  • Proven experience in the development and roll out of quality management systems (QMS) for farmers and farmer groups based on ISO 9001.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience with International development projects
  • Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English
